Deutschlandticket
The Deutschlandticket gives you flexible travel throughout Germany. For 63 Euro a month, you can use local transport nationwide. Further information is available here.
Advantages of the Deutschlandticket:
- The Deutschlandticket is valid throughout Germany on local transport, i.e. buses, trams, underground trains, suburban trains (S-Bahn), and regional trains (Regionalbahn). It is not valid on long-distance transport.
- It is a subscription that can be canceled on a monthly basis.
- The Deutschlandticket is available as a digital ticket, i.e. as a mobile ticket or e-ticket.
Variants of the Deutschlandticket
Deutschlandticket
The regular Deutschlandticket costs 63 Euro per month. Anyone can purchase it via the VGN online shop or in the NürnbergMOBIL app.
Deutschlandticket Job
If your employer has a framework agreement with us, you can purchase the discounted Deutschlandticket Job. It is best to check with your employer directly. Please note that the Deutschlandticket Job must be ordered by the 20th of the previous month in order to be used on the first day of the month. Retroactive orders are not possible.
Bayerisches Ermäßigungsticket
The discounted bayerisches Ermäßigungsticket is available exclusively to trainees, students, civil service candidates, and volunteers. To purchase the bayerisches Ermäßigungsticket for 43 Euro, you will need proof of eligibility. To do so, download the form, fill in the upper part yourself, and have the form stamped and signed by your institution (school, office, or agency).
Please note that the bayerisches Ermäßigungsticket cannot be ordered retroactively. The order must be placed by the 20th of the previous month for the ticket to be valid from the first day of the month.
Deutschlandticket Nürnberg-Pass
Needy Nuremberg citizens who have a Nürnberg-Pass are entitled to the discounted Deutschlandticket Nürnberg-Pass for 30 Euro per month. You can order it directly from the VGN online shop. If you do not have a Nuremberg Pass with a pass ID, please contact the Sozialamt of the city of Nuremberg directly.

Would you like to recieve advice on the Deutschlandticket in person, or you don't have online access? We will be in different parts of Nuremberg at various times. Just drop by.
We are happy to assist you with buying the ticket online. You can chose to recieve the ticket as a digital ticket on your phone, or as a chipcard in a letter. All you need to bring along are your bank details and some personal information.
Naturally, you can also come to our Kundencenter at the main train station Nuremberg. In order to skip long waiting times, please apply for a consultation appointment.
FAQ
Where can I buy the Deutschlandticket?
You can order the Deutschlandticket as a mobile ticket or e-ticket (chip card) via the VGN online shop at meinabo.vag.de. It can also be purchased directly as a mobile ticket via the NürnbergMOBIL app. Please note the order deadlines for the individual variants.
My Deutschlandticket is not displayed in the “VGN Fahrplan und Tickets” or “NürnbergMOBIL” app. What should I do?
If your Deutschlandticket is not displayed in the “VGN Fahrplan und Tickets” or “NürnbergMOBIL” app, please follow these steps:
- Check the app: Please check in the stores whether you have the latest version of your selected app installed.
- Separate registration in the app: In addition to registering at meinabo.vag.de, you must also register in the respective app. Have you also registered in the app? Use the email address you provided when placing your order to register. This email address is shown in the order confirmation.
Using the customer account email address: To access your ticket in the selected app, you will need the email address you provided when placing your order. This will be displayed in your order confirmation.
If you have already logged in with a different email address, please log out of the app and log in again using the customer account email address.

I ordered the Deutschlandticket as a mobile ticket. When will the ticket be displayed?
When purchasing the Deutschlandticket via the NürnbergMOBIL app, or when ordering retroactively for the first day of a month that is already in progress, the ticket is available immediately.
When purchasing the Deutschlandticket via the VGN online shop or the VGN app, the ticket will be visible approximately three days before the start of its validity period when ordering for the future. Retroactive orders for the first day of a month that is already in progress are not possible.
How can I pay for the Deutschlandticket?
Payment is made by SEPA direct debit mandate. This applies to all versions of the Deutschlandticket.
I would like to cancel my subscription. What do I need to do?
Cancellations are possible by the 10th of the month at the latest, effective at the end of the respective calendar month. The easiest way to do this is here: VGN online shop.
Cancellation is also possible in the NürnbergMOBIL app via the cancellation button stored with the Deutschlandticket.
My mobile ticket already contains a photo. Do I still have to carry official photo ID with me?
Yes, official photo ID must be carried and presented for inspection, even if the ticket already contains a photo.
What options are there for bringing passengers?
A separate ticket must be purchased for each passenger, bicycle, or dog.
Do I also get free minutes for VAG_Rad and Voi with the Deutschlandticket?
Yes. Purchasers who buy the Deutschlandticket from us receive 600 free minutes per month for VAG_Rad and 15 free minutes for Voi (minimum age 18). Registration in the NürnbergMOBIL app is required for this. This also applies to the Bavarian discount ticket and the Deutschlandticket Nürnberg-Pass.
