1. Available transportation
Six tramway-lines, two subway-lines and 47 bus-lines are operating in Nuremberg. Mondays through to Sundays between 5 am and long after midnight.

In addition 13 nightly buses, the NightLiners, take night owls safely home on weekends and nights before holidays - from 1 to 4 am leaving every full hour from Nuremberg central station.

Here you can retrieve your individual timetable .

2. Tickets
VAG is a partner in the public transport association of Greater Nuremberg (VGN). Tickets are valid for busses, trams, subways, suburban fast trains and regional trains in the area covered by the association.

The transport network within the VGN-area is divided into zones. To calculate your individual fare you have to look up the zones and part-zones you intend to cross on the fare zone map and count them. The total number determines your fare zone. In the fare-table you can then find the price of the respective ticket.

For rides within Nuremberg, Fürth and Stein fare-zone A applies (zones 100/200).
There is a special short haul tariff (fare zone K) for short-distance rides, usually two or three stops. If you buy your ticket at a ticket-machine, you`ll find the fare zone for your destination there.

In Nuremberg, short haul tariff is only available with single- and strip-tickets. In Fürth and Erlangen the short haul tariff applies universally.
