Fares for rides within Greater Nuremberg depend on the number of zones and part-zones travelled. You can calculate your fare by counting the zones and part-zones you want to cross in the fare-zone map. The total number of zones equals your fare zone. By looking up the fare zone in the price table you`ll find the cost of the respective ticket.
The fare-zone map is part of the timetable-booklet and also available at our service offices. Further on it is posted at all ticket-machines. If you buy your ticket at a ticket-machine, you`ll find the fare zone for your destination there.
Rides within Nuremberg
For rides within Nuremberg, Fürth and Stein the fare zones K (short hauls) or A apply.
Within Nuremberg and beyond the city limits the short haul tariff K is being calculated by the distance between tariff points (Validity: from the point of access to the tariff point after the next). At any stop you`ll further on find lists of destination stops which can be reached by short haul tariff.
Beyond that fare zone A applies.
The short haul tariff in Nuremberg is only applicable for single tickets and strip-tickets.

Rides within Erlangen
For rides only within Erlangen the fare zone K generally applies.
